Up North in Wisconsin

Did you know Wisconsin has over 15,074 lakes? Like many kids who grew up in Wisconsin I dreamed of owning a cabin on a lake and spent lots of vacations going to a lake “up north.”

I’m lucky enough to have a relative with a house on a lake. He invited my family to visit. It’s one of our favorite places to go, so we did. Here are thirteen pictures from our recent vacation.

1. Many lake associations have boat decorating contests and parades. This one, a Duck Dynasty motif, was one of my favorites.

  1. I liked the fire truck one, since my hubby is a firefighter. We vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC, or did. The area has grown up a lot from when we were younger, and I think we will be looking for a different venue in our older years. It may still be a beach, but one more placid than MB is now.

I like the fire truck, too. I’ve heard of Myrtle Beach but never been there. Maybe some day I’ll see you there.

  2. I’ve been watching That ’70’s Show reruns and that’s about all I know about Wisconsin. Lakes are nice but I grew up on the ocean and was so glad I did.

Thanks stopping by. I like water–lakes, oceans, waterfalls and pools are places I seek out.

  3. Great shots, Sistah!

Brunet Island WI State Park is one of my places to visit that provides serenity for myself and family. I am not opposed to other vacation spots, but it can’t interfere with my yearly jaunt to Brunet. The added bonus good old Mom and Dad are just down the road.

  5. I like Brunet Island Wisconsin State Park too. Especially the point. 🙂
