The Last Smile in Sunder City book cover and review

My rating- 5 Stars

The Last Smile in Sunder City by Luke Arnold is a fantasy noir where the world really isn’t what it used to be. In fact, the world’s wrecked. Everything is seedy, decaying and horribly interesting.

The main character, Fetch Philips, is a man riddled with guilt. A man bent on redeeming the unfortunates he accepts as clients. A man determined to rescue the woman he loves—lost causes all around.

Six years ago, Fetch accidently helped the human army suck magic dry, an event known as the Coda.

Unfortunately, the magic the humans sought to claim, vanished killing some magical creatures, and stripping the rest of their vitality, health, and allure—everything that made them powerful—the essence left is incredibly compelling.

If you like noir detectives as main characters and dark fantasies with rich, immersive world-building, this is a read, you shouldn’t miss.

Just so you know, I own a copy of this book.
